A former policeman was charged in court on Thursday with 12 counts of corruptly accepting sex and $7,000 from an unlicensed massage parlour operator.

Ong Thiam Hock, 35, a former senior staff sergeant, is accused of corruptly accepting bribes in the form of free sexual service and money from Ms Zhong Xiaoqin in return for tipping her off on impending raids by the police.

He is said to have accepted sexual favours five times and a total of $7,000 from Ms Zhong, who ran Tian Zi at Block 445 Clementi Avenue 3, between May and July last year.

Ong, then attached to Clementi police division as a compliance management officer, had previously arrested the China national for working illegally in a massage place.

His lawyer Thong Chee Kun told the court that he would be making more representations.

Ong is freed on $10,000 bail.

His case has been adjourned to March 19.

If convicted, he faces a fine of up to $100,000 and/or a jail term of up to five years on each bribery charge.
