Anton Casey, the British expatriate whose derisive comments about Singapore’s public transport have stirred public anger, is no longer with wealth management company Crossinvest Asia.
Posting on its Facebook page in the early hours Saturday, investment firm Crossinvest Asia said it had parted ways with Mr Casey with immediate effect.
The firm said it was deeply concerned by the Briton’s recent comments on social media that “have caused great distress amongst Singaporeans”.
It said those comments go against its core corporate and family values that are based on trust, mutual understanding and are respectful of diversity.
Two Facebook posts from Mr Casey went viral on Monday.
In one of them, he had labelled public transport commuters as “poor people”.
