Mainboard-listed Asia Tiger Group says that its investment in Think Environmental Limited, a UK-based waste management company, will begin operation of a waste management site this July. The site will process up to 75,000 tonnes of commercial waste annually and is expected to generate revenues of about $10.7 million a year.
Asia Tiger is an investment holding company which invests in and manages businesses that are engaged in renewable energy projects and industries.
This is the first of three waste management sites that Think Environment plans to have operational across the UK by the end of 2009. These will be followed by five sites in 2010 and a further five in 2011.
Each future site will process 75,000 tonnes to 100,000 tonnes of commercial waste annually, generating potential revenue of $10.7 million to $14.3 million annually.
Think Environmental is a private limited company incorporated and registered in England and Wales in 2007.
Unlike conventional waste management methods, Think environmental uses advanced technology that reduces the volume and weight of the waste material to about 10% of its original volume, thereby enabling more efficient waste disposal and better use of scarce land for landfills.
