When someone shares with you something of value, you have an obligation to share it with others.
Fung shui masters hit out at former colleague Peter ChanAustin Chiu05 July 2013Under fire in the courts, pursued by creditors and the taxman, Peter Chan Chun-chuen is also in trouble with leaders of his former profession.Fung shui masters have berated him for crossing a line by developing a sexual relationship with late tycoon Nina Wang Kung Yu-sum - which they say shamed the practice - and for bad-mouthing fung shui since his conversion to Christianity.“It is shameless for Chan to speak ill of fung shui now,” master Szeto Fat-ching said. “Religious belief is a personal choice. But you don’t use the religion to sell your image and you don’t take advantage of the human network brought by the belief.“If you do, it’s doubtful whether you are faithful to the religion.”Chan, known as Tony when he was acting as Wang’s fung shui adviser but as Peter since his conversion in March, has called the ancient Chinese art “works of evil”.Another master, Gladys Mak Ling-ling, questioned the ethics of Chan’s conduct.“Like the relationship between a doctor and a patient, fung shui masters should not engage in an intimate relationship with their clients and should not maintain a sexual relationship,” Mak said. The vast sums Chan earned have also been questioned.“Some fellow fung shui masters are jealous that he could make so much money by doing what he did. Others think it is entirely intolerable,” Szeto said. The two masters said Chan would not be able to avoid the bad karma brought on by his deeds.Mak also referenced Chan’s jaw, which according to fung shui is the most telling facial indicator of a person’s fortune when they are between 50 and 60. Chan had a “bad jaw” and she predicted he would not win the trial. She said Chan’s dull appearance - compared with the radiance he gave off when he first emerged to claim Wang’s estate in 2007 - indicated his luck was in a trough.Szeto said Chan had been trying hard to reverse his luck by dressing in dark colours throughout the trial and by growing his shaven hair long again to “block” bad luck like the “shade of a tree”.But Mak said it was wrong to believe fung shui could drastically change one’s luck.“Honestly, fung shui is about how you make changes to the environment to assist you,” she said. “You have to use your common sense. You have to be alarmed when you feel that there is something crossing the line, for example, physical contact.“We know from the news that there are too many young models being duped into believing that they can have their fate changed through rituals involving sex.”
